Conor McGregor looks set to make his return to the Octagon in 2024 after two and a half years out.

The Irishman has not fought since his trilogy bout in July 2021 against Dustin Poirier when he broke his leg.

McGregor suffered a nasty injury in his most recent bout

Since then, McGregor has been recovering from the injury and enjoying life, but now he is ready to get back to fighting. And June 29 appears to be the date that we will see McGregor competing in the UFC again.

This comes after he posted a video on X saying: “The greatest comeback of all time will take place in Las Vegas on International fight week on June 29.

“And the opponent, Michael Chandler.”

As for the weight class, McGregor continued: “And the weight Mr Chandler, 185 lbs.” This is the heaviest weight that McGregor will have ever competed at, with his previous clash against Poirier taking place at 155 lbs.

With that being said, the Irishman has fought twice at 170 lbs, against Donald Cerrone and Nate Diaz. But Chandler, who usually fights at lightweight, is up for the challenge.

After McGregor’s video, he posted on X saying: “I always said I wanted you at your biggest, your baddest and your best.

“185 would look good on me.”

While McGregor seems confident this will be the date of his return, it has not yet been acknowledged by the UFC and there has been no official announcement.
