Erling Haaland Loves The Champions League So Much, He Wakes Up To The Theme Song

Erling Haaland loves the Champions League so much that he wakes up to the theme song.

The 19-year old boy-wonder has taken the competition by storm this season and is joint top scorer alongside Robert Lewandowski thanks to his heroics for both Red Bull Salzburg and Borussia Dortmund.

He absolutely lives for the big European nights under the nights. And in preparing for them, his alarm tone is none other than “the Champions anthem” – based off George Frideric Handel’s Zadok the Priest.

He told TV2: “That’s my alarm tone. I wake up to it every day. It’s the last song I’d get tired of.”

“I wake up to it. So I always get a perfect start to the day.”

Asked about holding back emotions during the song playing pre-match, Haaland replied: “You should like to try. Now, I don’t think you’re going to play the Champions League, but if you had, I think you would have smiled quite wide, too.”

Tonight he wasn’t emotional, instead appearing ice cool and laughing as the camera panned to him. It was as if he knew about the madness he would serve up.

Continuing his fine form in the group stage with Salzburg, Haaland bagged a brace – including an absolute netbuster of a strike to win the first leg against PSG – to take his tally to 10 in seven Champions League games this term and 11 in a Dortmund shirt so far.

He’s the fastest player to reach double figures in Europe’s premier competition, while he’s also bagged a ridiculous 60 goals in his first 100 club games.

What’s more, Haaland has notched six hat-tricks this season and will no doubt be needing more room in his bed – having previously confessed to sleeping the match balls – or “my girlfriends” as he calls them.

Dortmund are said to have paid a fee in the region of €20 million and already we’re looking at one of the bargains of the decade.
