Messi: “Neymar at Real Madrid would be terrible to see”

Barcelona star Lionel Messi admitted that it would be a ‘big blow’ for the club’s fans if Neymar were to cross the Clásico rivalry and join Los Blancos.

Lionel Messi does not want to see his ex-Barcelona team-mate Neymar pull on a Real Madrid shirt under any circumstances.

Messi: “It would be a blow for Barcelona fans”
Messi played alongside Neymar for four years at Camp Nou, with Luis Suárez joining the Argentine and the Brazilian in a potent front-three.

“It would be terrible to see Neymar at Real Madrid because of everything he means to Barcelona. It would be a big blow for all the fans,” Messi told TyC Sports.

Real Madrid are eager to lure Neymar back to Spain after his year in France with PSG, and could sell Gareth Bale in order to do so.

Yet PSG, who have appointed Thomas Tuchel to take over from Unai Emery, are adamant that Neymar will not leave.

“I’m not interested in being the best ever”
Messi also dismissed inevitable comparisons that people make between him and other great players.

“I’m not interested in being the best ever,” he said. “I’ve never said that I am, not first, second, third, or fourth. Every time I start a new year I try to improve myself, win everything, leave everything on the pitch, and give all I have both for my team-mates and for myself.”
