Stephen Curry’s record that no one can match lifts Warriors

Stephen Curry NBA

Stephen Curry, the greatest shooter in NBA history, has taken three-point shooting to a new level.

During the Golden State Warriors game against the Brooklyn Nets, Curry hit his 3,500th career three-pointer, making him the first player in league history to record that many in a career.

It comes some 14 years after his first three-pointer and two years after smashing the NBA’s record for the most three pointers.

Landmark moments

Curry’s first three-pointer in his NBA career came on October 30, 2009, against the Phoenix Suns. On December 14, 2021, Curry made his 2,974th career three-pointer, surpassing Ray Allen’s long-standing record of 2,973.

Just days later, on December 19, 2021, he became the first player in NBA history to make 10 three-pointers in a game on four separate occasions. In the 2020-21 season, Curry shattered his own record by making 337 three-pointers, averaging a remarkable 5.3 per game.

A unique record

It is unclear when he plans to retire, but he has blown everyone out of the water. DespiteGolden State’s struggles, Curry is playing at an extremely high level, averaging 28.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game.

He also averages five three-pointers per game. Curry is a walking legend in the NBA and it is hoped that he will continue to impress for another five years or as long as he wants to stay in the league.
