Ronald Koeman ‘tells Luis Suarez he is not in Barcelona plans’

Ronald Koeman is reportedly open to Barcelona cancelling the contract of forward Luis Suarez.
Earlier this month, Koeman was named as the replacement for Quique Setien, penning a two-year contract at Camp Nou in the process.

The Dutchman has arrived at the Catalan giants at a time when the futures of many of the club’s players are up in the air, partly due to the current financial situation at the La Liga runners-up.

According to RAC1, Koeman has informed Suarez that he does not feature in his plans heading into the next campaign.

While the 33-year-old would prefer to remain at Barcelona, the report suggests that the Uruguay international may be open to having his contract cancelled a year early, an option which is said to appeal to club officials.

Discussions are expected to take place with Suarez’s lawyers with regards to handing him a free transfer this summer.
